Are there any websites that provide court record searches for free?

I’m trying to find information on my aunt’s 1983 murder. I don’t want to ask my father, because it’s still a very painful topic for him. Nonetheless, I’m curious to find out even the name of the man who killed her. It happened in Houston (Harris County), and I can’t search records in person because I no longer live in Texas. There’s nothing on Google, and I’ve looked more than once. Do I have any options?

    searchsystems.com is what I have used

    You could contact the local Newspaper and find someone from there, also libraries have newspapers on file. You can go into your local county building and be able to look up different cities.

    just look up Harris County TX and they’ll have a website for court, cops, sheriff’s, county records, etc…(www.google.com ask for harris county, tx records)

    Call the circuit court house where the case took place, if you don’t have the case number you can do a name search for a fee, have them look up the information and send you a copy. If it went to trial it is public records and accessable through articles FOIA (freedom of information act) amongst other public rights
